Pastor Renee Brewster was reportedly reluctant to make a potato salad when she asked God to send her "a sign" of reassurance.² Upon cutting a potato in half, Brewster's granddaughter pointed out the image of Jesus on the Cross in it.

Brewster's discovery was actually the second sighting of Jesus in a potato that month. The first was discovered by a woman in Houston, Texas.¹
