Jake Delhomme is the starting quarterback for the Carolina Panthers. He attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and was undrafted in the 1997 NFL Draft, but was signed by the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent. Delhomme's first starting job in the NFL came for the Carolina Panthers, when he started for the team in 2003 and eventually led the team to the Super Bowl, where the Panthers lost to the New England Patriots. Delhomme was a Pro Bowl selection in 2005.

NFL Career

Delhomme spent several seasons in NFL Europe before signing with the Carolina Panthers in 2003. He started off the season as the backup quarterback to Rodney Peete, but Delhomme was put into the game half-way through the season opener. He would remain at quarterback the rest of the season, guiding the Panther's to a Super Bowl appearance. Though Delhomme played well in the Super Bowl, throwing three touchdown passes and passing for 323 yards, the team lost to the New England Patriots.
