Introduction
- Using Yahoo!'s SearchMonkey platform, Mahalo's developers have cooked up an easy way for you to enhance your Yahoo! search results with useful information from Mahalo.
- Do a search on Yahoo!, and you'll get the usual Yahoo! results plus Mahalo's informative Guide Note, an image and trustworthy links to related pages.
- The best part is that there are no downloads or browser add-ons required. After creating or signing in to your Yahoo! Account, all you have to do is click a button to make your Yahoo! search results that much more useful.
Step 1: Sign In or Create a Yahoo! Account
- To use Yahoo! Enhanced Results with Mahalo content, you'll need to be signed in to your Yahoo! Account. If you don't have a Yahoo! Account, you can create one in a matter of minutes. It's free and enables you to use all of Yahoo!'s services including Yahoo! Mail, My Yahoo! and Flickr.1
- Visit the Yahoo! Enhanced Results page for our Mahalo Application.1
- Click on the Sign In link at the top left-hand corner of the page.
- If you already have a Yahoo! Account, simply sign in.
- You will automatically be returned to the Yahoo! Enhanced Results page for our Mahalo Application.1
- Skip to Step 2 for instructions on how to enhance your Yahoo! search results with Mahalo content.
- If you do not have a Yahoo! Account, click on the Sign Up link at the lower right-hand corner of the Yahoo! Sign In page.
- Complete the Yahoo! Account Sign Up form.
- Enter your name, gender, birthday and postal code.
- Choose an ID and password.
- Enter an alternate email address. (Yahoo! will send an account activation link to this address following sign up.)
- Choose a security question in case you forget your password.
- Type in the security code as shown.
- Read and agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.2 3
- Click the Create My Account button at the bottom of the page.
- After you create your account, you will be taken to a page that summarizes your account details. Click on the Continue button on the right-hand side of your screen to return to the Yahoo! Enhanced Results page for our Mahalo Application.1
Step 2: Add Enhanced Results
- The beauty of enhancing your Yahoo! search results with Mahalo's curated content is that it's so simple. No downloads. No browser add-ons. All you have to do is click a button.
- From the Yahoo! Enhanced Results page for our Mahalo Application, simply click the Add Enhanced Results button on the right-hand side of the page.1
- That's it. You're done! Nothing to download. Nothing to add on. If you ever want to remove the Mahalo Enhanced Results from your Yahoo! Account, simply return to the Yahoo! Enhanced Results page for our Mahalo Application and click the Remove Enhanced Results button.1
Step 3: Search
- With "enhanced results" enabled, your Yahoo! search results will automatically be augmented with useful Mahalo-curated content.
- Go to the Yahoo! homepage.4
- Search for a term on Yahoo!
- Your Yahoo! search results are now enhanced by useful content from Mahalo including an informative blurb, image and links to related Mahalo pages.
- In some instances, you will need to click the Mahalo Page drop-down arrow that appears directly beneath the relevant search result to access the Mahalo-enhanced result.
- With the addition of Mahalo's carefully curated information, your Yahoo! search results are now better than ever!
