About The Show
Created by David Shore and produced by Shore and film director Bryan Singer, the drama is set at the fictional Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital in New Jersey. The cast includes Robert Sean Leonard as oncologist James Wilson, House's only friend, and Lisa Edelstein as Dr. Lisa Cuddy, the Dean of Medicine and hospital administrator who continually butts heads with House and his unconventional methods.
According to creator David Shore, the character of House was partly inspired by the literary detective Sherlock Holmes.
The show received a 2006 Humanitas Prize for its "Three Stories" episode and a 2005 Peabody Award.
