May 19, 1890: Born in Kim Lien Vietnam.
1914: Works in Carlton Hotel in London. Also travels to and lives in United States during this period.
1919: Returns to France and changes his name to Nguyen Ai Quoc (Nguyen the Patriot).
1919: At Versailles Peace Conference attempts presenting proposal........to President Woodrow Wilson.
1920: Founding member of French Communist Party.
1925: Goes by name Ly Thuy. Forms Thanh Nien Cach Menh Dong Chi Hoi.
1930: Presides over founding of Indochinese Communist Party.
1931: Arrested in Hong Kong during crackdown on Political Revolutionaries.
1940: Returns to Southern China and begins to use the name Ho Chi Minh (He Who Enlightens).
1941: Returns to Vietnam and forms Vietnam Doc Lap Dong Minh Hoi.
1942: Imprisoned for two years by Chinese Nationalist Government.
1945: Appeals to Vietnamese to rise in revolution. August 17th Viet Minh take control of Hanoi
1946: Democratic Republic of North Vietnam (DVR) agrees to join the French Union.
1950: U.S. recognizes Associated State of Vietnam.
1969: September 2nd dies of Heart Failure.
