Hell's Kitchen 4 Week 2 Summary
- The opening of Hell's Kitchen S04E02 is a recap of Week 1. They point out the failure of the chefs to impress Chef Ramsay and his immediate displeasure with their ability to perform during dinner service.
- The episode begins and Ramsay watches the 14 remaining chefs return to the residence. Bobby agrees in an interview that he dodged a bullet and says he's going to seriously step up his game. Jason says he will not lose to a "bunch of girls." The girls come together and say "the bitches are in the next kitchen."
- At 5:43 AM the next morning, the sous chefs harshly awaken the contestants with a bullhorn. They are ordered to get downstairs where Chef Ramsay greets them with a dump truck full of wasted food from the night before. Ramsay orders them to fill up red and blue canisters with food. Jen nearly vomits and Ramsay orders Sharon not to smudge her makeup. He says they better "start giving a damn."
- After showering, the chefs return to the kitchen, where Ramsay pulls out a giant halibut and shows them how to prepare it. He cuts it into 53 six-ounce portions. The challenge: to cut halibut into six-ounce portions. The team with the best portions after twenty minutes, according to Ramsay's specificiations, wins.
- Petrozza and Louross take charge in the men's kitchen. Ben feels confident in his ability to cut halibut. The men finish with over eight minutes left. Sharon was nervous about the time and Jen says she doesn't know what she's doing.
- Chef Ramsay inspects the women's fish portions first. Some of them are "dashed," but they finished up with 41 portions of halibut.
- He checks the men's next. One of them disgusts him, and he called it a "chain of sushi." He thinks someone has butchered the fish and Bobby, in an interview, blames Jason for the mishap. One of the portions looks like someone has chewed it, Ramsay says. Despite the mistakes, the men also come up with 41. It's the first tie ever in the history of Hell's Kitchen challenges.
- Ramsay says that each team must choose one member to select a portion of halibut. The team with the portion that is the closest to six ounces wins the challenged. Ben comes up from the men and Corey from the women. Both of them choose a fillet. Ramsay places Ben's on the scale and it is 5.9 ounces. Ramsay weighs Corey's fillet and it weighs only 4.8 ounces. Jen criticizes Corey for losing. Ramsay tells the women that they must prepare all of the halibut for the next dinner service. The men win the challenge and get to join Ramsay on a yacht, with fancy cars to take them to the destination.
- As the men are on their way out the door, Jen inspires all the girls to bang their fish guts in an attempt to spray it on the men. Matt Siegel gets upset at this, as he is wearing very expensive cologne.
- The men join Ramsay on a yacht for a lobster lunch. Jean-Phillipe brings out some caviar in a snazzy naval outfit.
- Back at Hell's Kitchen, Jen openly criticizes Corey for choosing a light filet. Corey thinks it shows what Jen is made of.
- Gordon Ramsay says that they must attack the next service with full force. He encourages them not to lose any challenge.
- The next morning, Corey points out that Sharon is mixing up recipes. During an interview, Christina says that Sharon puts their team at a disadvantage. Jason thinks that the men can win since they are more confident and capable. He says that the women won't do well without a man to lead them. He says a room full of girls is useless unless they're having a "tupperware party."
- Before dinner service, Ramsay asks Petrozza to list off the appetizers, which he has difficulty doing. Chef Ramsay screams at him to get out and go upstairs and read the menu until he has his <expletive> together.
- Ramsay says Craig and Rosann will act as assitant Maitre d' to Jean-Phillipe.
- In the kitchen, Ramsay quizzes Petrozza about the desserts. He thinks there is a black cherry sorbet, which is incorrect. Ramsay yells at him and tells him to go upstairs and study the menu until it's memorized. Petrozza goes upstairs, smokes a cigarette and says that he's done. Bobby stands him up and attempts to convince him to come downstairs. Petrozza continually says "I'm done." Petrozza wipes his eyes on Bobby's apron and then goes back downstairs with him.
- Petrozza correctly recites the menu to Ramsay and puts him on the meat station. The doors to Hell's Kitchen open.
- Craig and Rosann try their luck taking orders and Craig presents his to Ramsay. He barks out the orders at the Blue Team and commands them be louder with their "Yes, Chef!"
- The women have not received any orders from Rosann after 37 minutes of service.
- Ramsay sends back Bobby's first fried egg because it looks a little torn apart. Bobby and Jason get into an argument about the cooking of the scallops.
- The women's first orders come in. Ramsay speeds through the orders and the women get started.
- The men's second attempt at appetizers meet Ramsay's approval and the patrons enjoy the food.
- Corey is working fast and Ramsay approves of her risotto. Jason is presenting his halibut to Ramsay and he says that they are raw. Jason wants another shot and Ramsay tells him to him to "shut up." Petrozza's meat is also too rare and Ramsay throws down a towel in disgust. The Blue Team is having trouble getting their entrees out. Craig hits a woman in the back of the head with a chair as he is moving it. Jean-Phillipe makes Craig go back and apologize to the woman.
- Ramsay criticizes Sharon for having raw meat touch cooked meat. Christina gets angry at Sharon for having to recook her food after Sharon messes up. Ramsay yells at them for "p-ssing around like a couple of Barbie twins."
- Ramsay screams at Petrozza for not cutting the lamb appropriately. He complements Petrozza on having a nicely cooked lamb but tell him not to "<expletive> his pants."
- Rosann admits to Chef Ramsay that she has a line of tickets that she hasn't presented to the kitchen because it was too busy. He criticizes her.
- In the Blue Kitchen Ramsay repeatedly asks "Where's the beef?" because the team is not presenting them to him. He screams madly at the team for not communicating well. Jason tells Ramsay to let him know what is going on. Ben thinks there are considerable communication problems.
- Ramsay goes back to the Red kitchen and asks them "Where's the beef?" He tells Sharon she is a show girl with a feather coming out of her a**. Dishes are now being sent back to the Blue Kitchen because food is not cooked enough. Ramsay tells Sharon that she is giving up, that Matt is setting the place on fire, and that Jason is sending him raw food. Jason denies that the raw food was his.
- He gathers the teams together and tells the chefs to "shut it down." He turns to the patrons and tells them to "get the f*** out." After studying the comment cards, he declares that the ladies are the losing team. Ramsay says Corey is the "best of the worst" and asks her to select two female contestants to put up for elimination.
- Jen and Rosann discuss how Sharon should be sent up for elimination. Jen says that she cannot execute anything properly. Rosann says she wouldn't be surprised if Corey recommended herself.
- Corey discusses with Bobby and Ben how none of the other women have approached Corey to try and convince her to keep them on.
- Back in the restaurant, Corey nominates Christina for "strategic reasons." Corey says that Christina treats her like a dumb blonde. Her second nominee, for "personal reasons", is Jen. Ramsay says "f*** me." Both are a big surprise, as Sharon and Rosann were considered the worst by most after the dinner service.
- Christina says she should stay in Hell's Kitchen because she is intelligent. She begins to cry because Corey did not tell her that there was any issue. The men begin to laugh at Christina's tears. Jen goes on a long rant about how she is the strongest player and is the most creative. Ramsay tells her to breathe. She asks to say something else and Ramsay says "f*** me."
- Ramsay says that winning the prize as an executive chef is an extremely important prize. He says he will not just give the job to someone he doesn't believe in. He says there is someone there that he just doesn't believe in. The person leaving Hell's Kitchen is Sharon. He tells the other two to go back in line.
- Corey curses to herself and both of the other contestants breathe a sigh of relief.
- Sharon says that Ramsay had the wrong image of her. She says she will have her own restaurant one day. Ramsay says that he appreciates Corey's strategy, but that he could not in good conscious keep Sharon.
- Christina feels like she was betrayed and she wants to get revenge on Corey.
