The Kiss
Herring was set to face Yoshihiro Nakao on December 31, 2005. During the pre-fight staredown, Nakao kissed Herring on the lips. Herring responded by throwing a right hook to Nakao, knocking him out. Herring was disqualified and a melee ensued when Nakao's cornermen attacked Herring. The outcome of the match was later changed to a no contest. Both the kiss and punch were ruled to be fouls.
