Hayward Fault

Guide Note: The Hayward Fault Zone is the fault line that extends along the east side of San Francisco Bay, California and through Richmond, El Cerrito, Berkely, Oakland, San Leandra, Hayward, Fremont and San Jose. All of these areas are densely populated. The Hayward Fault runs parallel to the more famous fault line, San Andreas Fault. It has been reported that when an earthquake of 6.8 or higher occurs it will be catastrophic and result in over $168 billion dollars.
