The Hallmark Co. is the largest greeting card manufacturer in the United States, with approximately 16,000 employees and $4.1 billion in revenue. In August of 2008, Hallmark announced the introduction of a line of gay marriage cards.

Hallmark owns a cable station called the Hallmark Channel which is broadcast in more than 100 countries. The channel specializes in family friendly movies and programming.
Hallmark Holiday
Seemingly frivolous holidays that have been overly commercialized are sometimes referred to as "Hallmark Holdays." Examples of such holidays are Valentines Day, Mother's Day and Father's Day. In calling a holiday a "Hallmark Holiday," one refers to the commercial nature of the day and its promotion by companies such as Hallmark.
