Half-Life

Half-Life is a science-fiction first-person shooter video game developed by Valve Corporation. There are two games within the Half-Life series.

Gameplay

During Half-Life, players follow Gordon Freeman, and a number of other characters released through expansion packs. Freeman and his team open a portal which allows aliens to teleport back to the Black Mesa facility. Freeman travels throughout the Black Mesa facility, attempting to rectify the situation.

Expansion Packs

The first expansion pack, Half-Life: Opposing Force, was released on October 31, 1999. This expansion pack follows U.S. Marine Corporal Adrian Shephard, who is assigned to cover-up the operation at the Black Mesa facility. The second expansion pack, Half-Life: Blue Shift was released June 12, 2001. Blue Shift follows Barney Calhoun, who is a Black Mesa security guard. The last expansion pack, Half-Life: Decay was released October 29, 2001. This pack adds Dr. Gina Cross and Dr. Colette Green who are colleagues of Freeman.
