Screenwriter and director Guy Ritchie's first two feature length films, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch, brought him considerable praise as an action filmmaker and crime writer.
Ritchie has been married to pop superstar Madonna since December 2000. They have two sons, Rocco and David, the latter of whom was adopted from Malawi.

Career
After finding commercial and critical success with his first two films, Ritchie directed Madonna in Swept Away, a remake of a 1974 film by Lina Wertmüller. The film received negative reviews and grossed less than $600,000 in the U.S..2
His 2005 film, Revolver, met with similar critical vitriol and was only released on a limited basis in the U.S.3 Ritchie's 2008, film, RocknRolla, is set for release in September in the U.K. and October in the U.S.
Divorce Rumors
In June 2008, rumours circulated that Guy Ritchie and Madonna planned to divorce. Though blogs and news organizations reported that Madonna had acquired the services of divorce lawyer Fiona Shackleton, her publicist has unequivocally denied the separation rumor.4
