Format

Currently hosted by Diane Sawyer and Robin Roberts, Good Morning America or GMA airs each weekday morning from 7AM to 9AM presenting news, weather and featured stories. Good Morning America Weekend airs on Saturdays and Sundays during the same time slot, with different hosts. Both are filmed live from the Times Square Studios in New York City.

History

Good Morning America was first broadcast in November, 1975, as a competitor to The Today Show. The first commentators, David Hartman and Nancy Dussault, offered a light-hearted approach to the news, different from a typical newscast.
