CSI: Crime Scene Investigation actor Gary Dourdan was arrested on drug charges on April 28, 2008. Dourdan was taken into custody by police after they found the actor sleeping in a parked car on the wrong side of the road in Palm Springs, California.

On May 7, 2008, the 41-year-old Dourdan was charged with felony possession of heroin, cocaine and Ecstasy. A prosecutor said if Dourdan was convicted on all charges, he would most likely face probation, and he would be sent to a drug treatment program.

May 28, 2008: Dourdan's first charge for possession of heroin was dropped in court. He inturn pleaded guilty to the second and third felony possession charges against him and avoided jail time. If Dourdan completes 30 hours of drug treatment, the remaining charges will be dropped.

Authorities say Dourdan appeared disoriented and under the influence of drugs or alcohol. When police searched the car, they reportedly found several different illegal substances in the vehicle, including cocaine, heroin, Ecstasy and prescription drugs, along with drug paraphernalia.

Reports in mid-April of 2008 indicated Dourdain had been fired from CSI after eight seasons on the show. TV Guide quotes sources at CBS as saying producers were trying to be supportive of the actor, by making it appear that the parting was mutual, but that he was let go for an "ongoing problem personal to Dourdan."
