GarageBand

GarageBand is a digital music production program available exclusively for the Mac OS X operating system. Users can input live instruments or use virtual instruments and loops included with the software. They can then edit and mix recordings together to create original compositions.

Expansion

Apple offers additional virtual instruments for Garageband in a series of expansion packs called GarageBand Jam Packs. Each pack contains a selection of instruments, loops and effects specific to a particular genre of music.³ Additional loops can also be purchased, downloaded for free from non-Apple sources or created and recorded by the user.
