On September 21, 2007 Chile's Supreme Court ruled in favor of extraditing former Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori from Chile to Peru. Fujimori, was imprisoned in Peru until his trial for general corruption, and human rights violations.

Barrios Altos massacre
On November 3, 1991 15 civilians were killed in a raid by members of Grupo Colina, an anti-terrorist group sanctioned by the Peruvian government. The assailants were targeting a meeting of the Shining Path rebels, but killed indiscriminately without identifying their targets. The incident was identified as a crime against humanity, and cited during Fujimori's extradition hearings.1
