Fatigue is a feeling of tiredness or weakness and lack of energy. Severe long term fatigue could be chronic fatigue syndrome. Fatigue can have many causes from lack of sleep to lack of exercise but it can also be a sign of a more serious health problem. If you have constant fatigue no matter how much rest you get it is recommended to see a doctor for underlying causes.

If you are constantly fatigued its a good idea to do a self evaluation to see if there could be a serious underlying cause for it. There are many things in a persons lifestyle that can cause fatigue. Be sure you are getting enough sleep. Going to bed to late or not sleeping well can cause fatigue. Stress is another cause of fatigue. Not getting enough exercise causes you to be out of shape and also causes fatigue. Not eating properly nor getting the correct amount of fluids is not giving you the energy your body needs to survive so it will cause fatigue. Certain medications is another cause of fatigue.

Sometimes underlying medical conditions can cause fatigue. Some of the causes include anemia, cancer, depression, restless leg syndrome, sleep apnea and thyroid problems. Extreme fatigue is a common warning sign of diabetes also. Illnesses such as a common cold or the flu can leave you feeling fatigued. These are just a few of the medical conditions that have fatigue as a symptom, there are many more. A visit to your doctor is advised to determine the cause.
