Excite Truck

Guide Note:

Excite Truck is a racing game for the Nintendo Wii and uses motion sensing controls. It is a spin off of the NES game Excitebike and a launch title for the Nintendo Wii. It was one of the first games available for the Wii where players drove using the wiimote. The game also allowed for users to upload their own mp3s to be played from an SD card, instead of having to listen to the in-game music. The game received some widely different reviews, ranging from above average to just below average.

Gameplay:

Excite Truck is one of the few Nintendo Wii games where players control the vehicles by using only the wiimote. In the beginning, a player must pass a series of challenges before being allowed to play the actual races. There are three trucks initially available: The Boulder, The Firefly and The Wolf. More trucks become available by passing courses and reaching milestones. Winning races is not the primary goal of Excite Truck. Instead players must earn stars throughout a race, which can be obtained by performing stunts and also finishing high in a race. Players must earn a specific number of stars before advancing to the next level.

Game Modes:

Most of the game modes in Excite Truck are for one player:

• Excite Race: The main feature in the game; players compete in several championship cup races. Players advance to more difficult races by earning the required amount of stars.
• Super Excite Race: Only available to a player after passing every Excite Race with a minimum score of "S."
• Mirror Race: The courses are turned around.
• Challenge: The player must maneuver through several tasks throughout a race.
• Super Challenge: A much harder version of the Challenge Mode.
• Versus: A two-player race.
