Journalist Elizabeth Vargas is co-anchor of 20/20, a television news magazine on ABC, and anchor of various ABC News Specials. Between 2005 and 2006, Vargas was co-anchor of World News Tonight with Bob Woodruff. After Woodruff's lengthy hospitalization following injuries sustained in Iraq after his jeep was hit by a roadside bomb, Vargas hosted the show alone until she left for personal reasons in 2006.
