February 22, 2008: Several businesses in downtown Durango, Colorado caught on fire during the afternoon hours. The fire started in the kitchen of a downtown restaurant and spread following an explosion in an adjacent business. Fires are still out of control as of 5 p.m. Fast Facts:
- Initially reported at 1:40 p.m.
- First noted at the Seasons Restaurant
- Explosion occurred at 3:30 p.m. at the Le Rendezvous Swiss Bakery
- At least 7 firefighters were injured during the explosion, none seriously
- Destroyed 2 restaurants and a T-Shirt store
