Career Highlights
Now known for his powerful punch, Deontay Wilder started boxing in 2005, appearing in 16 fights before winning the National Golden Gloves tournament in 2007. He was the first boxer to win the tournament with less than 20 fights worth of experience. In the same year, Wilder won the U.S. Nationals. Wilder easily qualified for the 2008 Summer Olympics and competed as a heavyweight in Beijing.3
