NFL Career
David Tyree was drafted by the Giants in 2003. Tyree has had modest numbers over his first six seasons, catching a total of 54 passes for 650 yards and four touchdowns through 2007. However, Tyree had a big game against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII. Tyree first caught a five-yard touchdown pass from Eli Manning to put the Giants up 10-7. Near the end of the game with the Giants behind 14-10, Manning escaped a sack and threw downfield to Tyree. Tyree jumped up and pinned the ball against his helmet to haul in the 32-yard reception. The play has since been named one of the greatest in Super Bowl history.1
