David Cobb
Sergeant David Cobb of Detroit was found dead in a park on September 26, 2008. Police say Cobb hanged himself. Officer Cobb was suspended by the police department because he was being investigated for the contract-killing of his wife.1

Rose Cobb Murder Investigation
Officer Cobb was suspended from the police department after his wife Rose Cobb was shot to death in the parking lot of a CVS drug store. Cobb was arrested for allegedly hiring a hit man to kill his wife, but there was not enough evidence to charge him with murder.4
Police in Detroit said before Cobb was found dead, they had made significant progress into the investigation and had gathered new evidence against him.4
Confessed Hit Man Vincent Smothers
The hit man, Vincent Smothers, confessed to the killing and is awaiting trial. Smothers claims Cobb wanted his wife dead because he was having an affair and wanted Mrs. Cobb's life insurance money.4
