Darrell Arthur
Former Kansas Jayhawks basketball star Darrell Arthur plays for the Memphis Grizzlies in the National Basketball Association.1
Arthur and Kansas teammate Mario Chalmers were reportedly found with marijuana in their hotel room on September 3, 2008, during the NBA rookie transition program. Both players were sent home from the program and are expected to start the 2008-2009 NBA season on suspension.2

Basketball Career
Arthur played high school basketball at South Oak Cliff High School, winning the Texas state championship in 2005 in 2006. He was selected as the Dallas Morning News Player of the Year in 2006 as well as All-American. Later in 2006, Arthur enrolled at the University of Kansas. He started seven games his freshman year and averaged 9.8 points per game. During his sophomore season, Arthur led the team in blocks and helped the Jayhawks win the 2008 NCAA Championship.3
On June 26, 2008, Arthur was drafted 27th overall in the NBA draft by the New Orleans Hornets. That same day, he was traded first to the Portland Trail Blazers, then was involved in a three-team trade which sent him to the Memphis Grizzlies.4
