NHL Career

Prior to playing in the NHL, Armstrong played in the Western Hockey League for the Red Deer Rebels. Armstrong was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins 21st overall in the 2001 NHL Draft. He played for the Wilkes-Barre Penguins in the American Hockey League for three full years before making his NHL debut during the 2005-06 regular season. He was then traded to the Thrashers on February 26, 2008.¹

Career Highlights

Armstrong helped Team Canada win the 2007 World Ice Hockey Championships. He scored the game-winning goal in the gold medal game against Finland.
