An anonymous Democratic official was quoted as saying Hillary Clinton cannot win the Democratic presidential nomination over Barack Obama without resorting to the 'Tonya Harding Option.' The "option" is a reference to the disgraced figure skater Tonya Harding, who planned to physically injure her competitor Nancy Kerrigan at a practice session for the 1994 U.S. Figure Skating Championships. Clinton currently trails Obama in pleged delegates, and many analysts believe that it is virtually impossible for her to gain a lead in pledged delegates, forcing her to rely on Superdelegates to win the nomination.
