Billy & Chuck
In 2002, Palumbo formed a tag team with Billy Gunn. They then changed their names, going simply as the team of Billy and Chuck. The two began exhibiting traits of homosexuality and affection between each other. They were soon joined by a flamboyant stylist named Rico.
Billy and Chuck soon became the source of media controversy when Chuck appeared to propose to Billy in September 2002. A marriage ceremony was planned to air on SmackDown as the angle received mainstream media attention from several news outlets. However, prior to being married at the televised ceremony, the two admitted that the whole thing had been a publicity stunt.
