Chef's Salad

The Chef's Salad is similar to the Cobb Salad in that it is served with hardboiled eggs and meat. While some believe that the Chef's salad is based on the Cobb salad, the Chef's salad is thought to have been created earlier then the Cobb salad.

The suspected creator of the Chef's salad is chef Jacques Roser, at the Hotel Pennsylvania in New York City during the 1930s.

Much of the salad's popularity is accredited to Louis Diat, a chef at the Ritz-Carleton. However, Diat did not invent the recipe, since older recipes are documented.
