Charlaine Vivian Stringer is the coach for the Rutgers University woman's basketball team. Stringer started her career coaching at Cheyney State College in 1972.

In 1995, Stringer began coaching at Rutgers. In 2007, she led her team to the Final Four. After the contest, talk radio host Don Imus made inflammatory comments about the players on Stringer's team.¹ Stringer went on to pen her memoirs (Standing Tall), part of which chronicled the fallout from the Imus incident.²
