Chad Johnson Michael Phelps
On August 13, 2008, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson appeared as a guest on Pardon the Interruption. During the interview, Johnson was asked if he could beat Michael Phelps in a swimming race. Johnson replied by saying that he knew several people that could beat Phelps, including himself.1

Five Good Minutes
During the interview on PTI, Chad Johnson explained why he is now happy to still be a member of the Bengals. He stated that he was speaking out of frustration when he asked to be traded. Johnson went on to say that he spoke with people such as his mother, Ray Lewis and Deion Sanders, who convinced him to stay in Cincinnati. Johnson also said that he would make things interesting during the 2008 season without being a distraction.1
When asked about his relationship with Carson Palmer, Johnson invited Palmer to appear on camera with him. Johnson said that they do indeed bicker from time to time and jokingly stated that if things got too personal, he would beat Palmer up. Palmer then imitated putting Johnson in a headlock.1
Johnson was then asked about the Olympics and if he could beat Michael Phelps in any swimming competition. Johnson responded by saying that there is no competition for Phelps where he is. Johnson goes on to say that he himself is a three-time Charles Hadley Pool champ and that where he is from, Liberty City, there are people that could beat Phelps, including himself.1
