Trade Demand
After the 2007 season, Chad Ocho Cinco began making comments to the media about playing for other teams besides the Bengals. In March of 2008, Ocho Cinco said that he wanted to be traded before or soon after the NFL Draft, threatening to sit out for the 2008 season if a trade was not made. Bengals coach Marvin Lewis made it clear that Ocho Cinco would not be traded and that he can either play football or sit on the bench. Ocho Cinco also stated that he would not be attending any of the Bengals preseason workouts or camps.
On April 22, The Washington Redskins proposed a trade for Ocho Cinco in exchange for a first round pick in the 2008 draft and a 2009 pick. Ocho Cinco's contract with the Bengals runs through 2011.3 Ocho Cinco has since backed off from his demands and has seemingly returned to regular business with the Bengals.
