Cedar Fest
The last
Cedar Fest party held in East Lansing,
MI, near
Michigan State University was in 1986. After that party police banned the party and it had not been held since. This year, students attempted to revive the party which takes place at Cedar Village, a student housing complex bordering the northeast side of campus. The city and university had warned people on Friday to stay away from the event. By late Saturday night however, almost 3,000 to 4,000 people had gathered for the Cedar Fest party. At around 2 a.m. Sunday morning police were forced to use tear gas to disperse the crowd after fights broke out and officers were pelted with bottles and cans.
