Guide Note
From Superman and Spider-Man to Hellboy, the X-Men and beyond, comic books are a favored, literary American pastime. Superheroes were dominant in comics for a number of years, but as Japanese manga infiltrated the genre, a number of other topics emerged, like crime, ghost stories, supernatural adventure and horror.
Japanese Manga
Osamu Tezuka, often called the "Father of Manga" popularized the genre with his creation, Astro Boy. Over the years, manga has stormed cultures all over the world, some of the most well known being Dragon Ball, Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop and Naruto. Superhero Vs Nemesis
Superheroes like Batman, Superman, Spider-man and Professor Xavier are some of the most popular in the genre, but it's possible that many of them wouldn't have been near as popular without their infamous nemeses. Even if you're not a fan of comics, chances are you've still heard of The Joker, Lex Luthor, Doctor Octopus and Magneto.

Comic to Film Crossovers

The Incredible Hulk and Iron Man both enjoyed successes at the box office in 2008.
