Cassie Ventura started her career as a model. Soon after, she quickly moved into an R&B singing career. Ventura also acts, dances and can be seen in the movie Step Up 2 the Streets. Ventura was discovered with the help of producer Ryan Leslie and industry giant Tommy Mottola, who signed the singer. After setting up a popular MySpace page, Ventura was eventually signed by Diddy for his Bad Boy label on Atlantic Records. On her albums, Ventura goes by just "Cassie."

On July 24, 2008, Star Magazine reported that Ventura and boyfriend, Sean "Diddy" Combs, are engaged.¹ The following day, Diddy released a statement denying the reports.²
