Carly Smithson I Drove All Night
American Idol contestant Carly Smithson performed Cyndi Lauper's version of the song "I Drove All Night" on the March 5, 2008 episode of the hit singing competition episode of the hit televised singing competition. The song was originally recorded by Roy Orbison in 1987, but it was not released it until after his death. Lauper's version of the song was released in 1989 and peaked at number six on the Billboard pop music chart.
