Positive Reviews

Wired Magazine was impressed with the photo and video quality and great durability while still being $100 less than its previous model. DigitalCameraReview.com says the G9 is as "good as it gets," and the added RAW Image Format capture is a plus to an already great camera.

Negative Reviews

CNET reports distortion at the widest angle of viewing and is turned off by the lack of optical zoom when filming video. PopPhoto didn't see many changes to the design of the G9 when compared to the Canon PowerShot G7, and reported difficulty navigating the menus.
