The Vixia HF10 is one of several recently introduced Vixia camcorders introduced by Canon within the concept of a tapeless camcorder. The camera records in AVCHD, which stands for Advanced Video Codec High Definition. The physicality of the device makes it more resemble an optical zoom lens camera, as opposed to most generic camcorders.
