June 30, 2008: Wildfires sparked by lightning continued to rage across Napa, Solano, Butte, Mendocino and Monterey Counties, and threatened Big Sur in California. Thunderstorms moving through the area caused over 60 fires on Saturday, June 21st.

Air Quality Concerns
Air quality districts from Redding to Bakersfield have issued health warnings because of the smoke from the fires. Residents are being urged to stay indoors and to limit their overall exposure to the smoke.
