Bruce Hornsby is a singer, songwriter and piano player whose music incorporates an eclectic mix of jazz, folk and rock. After studying music at the University of Miami, FL, Hornsby worked as a composer and session musician before he had his first big hit in 1986 with "The Way It Is."
In addition to his solo career and periods playing with backup bands such as The Range and the Noise Makers, Hornsby has collaborated with numerous high-profile artists, including The Grateful Dead in the early '90s and, later, bluegrass mandolin great Ricky Skaggs.
