Brendan Shanahan
National Hockey League all-star forward Brendan Shanahan plays professional hockey, most recently for the New York Rangers. He has been selected for seven NHL All-Star Game appearances and won the Stanley Cup Championships three times. Shanahan has previously played for the New Jersey Devils, St. Louis Blues, Hartford Whalers and Detroit Red Wings.

Early NHL Career
Shanahan was drafted out of the Ontario Hockey League by the New Jersey Devils in 1987. He stayed with the Devils through the 1990-91 season. On July 25, 1991 he signed as a free agent with the St. Louis Blues. He earned his first NHL All-Star Game selection with the Blues, before heading to the Hartford Whalers for a single season in 1995.
Championship Years
Shanahan was traded to the Detroit Red Wings on October 9, 1996. He helped the Wings earn three Stanley Cup Championships over six seasons in 1997, 1998 and 2002. After nearly a decade in Detroit, Shanahan signed with the New York Rangers in 2006.
