Canadian professional hockey player Brad Ference plays with the Detroit Red Wings organization of the National Hockey League. Ference was assigned to the Wings' American Hockey League affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins in September of 2007.

NHL Career

Ference was drafted 10th overall in the 1997 NHL draft by the Vancouver Canucks. He continued to play for his junior team, the Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League, until January 17, 1999, when he was traded to the Florida Panthers. Ference made his NHL debut that year and played with the Panthers for nearly four seasons before he was traded to the Phoenix Coyotes on March 8, 2003. During the 2004-05 NHL lockout, Ference played in France for the HC Morzine-Avoriaz. He then spent one season with the New Jersey Devils and signed with the Calgary Flames in 2006. On July 3, 2007, Ference was cut from the Wings' roster and sent to the Grand Rapids Griffins in the AHL.
