Blackwater Security
Iraq's Interior Ministry has banned Blackwater USA's license to provide security for U.S. diplomats in Iraq after a gunfight in Baghdad that left 8 civilians dead on September 16, 2007. Blackwater had been highly criticized by Iraqi officials, for what they felt was an over aggressive approach to security. Blackwater had roughly 1,000 employees in Iraq, and was the largest of three private security firms operating in the country.
