Beaujolais Nouveau is a light fruity red wine that is released in the same year that the grapes are harvested. The wine is meant to be immediately drunk and should not be kept any longer than a year. The wine is released in November and is best when used before Christmas. Beaujolais Nouveau is also meant to be served at a temperature around 55 degrees Fahrenheit.

Making the Wine
Beaujolais Nouveau is made from the Gamay grape that comes from the Beaujolais AOC. The wine is made from whole berry fermentation known as carbonic maceration. After the wine is pasteurized, it is ready to drink in 6-8 weeks.
