  • Keys to the game: Ohio State's big line pushing at LSU's defensive line, needing to control All-American Glenn Dorsey. For LSU on Offense, it comes down utilizing their speed by spreading out the Buckeyes secondary.
  • Corso talking about Dorsey, trapping should be effective against Dorsey, but he's way off base about Dorsey opting out against because of his draft status.

  • GameDay resetting LSU's dominance in the Superdome, which is 80 miles from LSU's home campus in Baton Rouge.
  • Former Heisman Trophy winner Desmond Howard talking about how Ohio State pumped crowd noise into their practice facility to prepare for the game. Seems like a lot of Ohio State fans are also there.
  • Ohio State coach Jim Tressel knows they have to play their very best and be consistent throughout the game, not try to peak too early, in order to win. Tressel has won 30 of last 32 games, and is 8-3 against Top 10 teams.

  • This will be the last game for LSU defensive coordinator Bo Pellini, who took the head coaching job at Nebraska
  • For weeks, the majority of focus by the national media has been regarding a "speed" advantage that LSU seems to have. Malcolm Jenkins, DB for Ohio State, called his team "slow". Analyst Todd McShay is breaking down the speed of DE Vernon Gholston. In my opinion, they really have talked this point to death.
  • On Yahoo's website there is a story about the incoming BCS coordinator indicates they are considering the "plus-one" format for future use, which would allow for the bowl games to be played, and then take the top 2 teams to play in the BCS game. It has been 51 days since Ohio State last played a football game
  • LSU starting QB Matt Flynn looks good in warm-up, his shoulder injury doesn't look like it'll be a factor. Still, look for a lot of QB Ryan Perrilloux to play tonight, to try and spread out the Buckeyes defense. Problem with that theory is that OSU plays Northwestern and Purdue each year; two teams that run "spread offenses".
