Jean Arp
Jean Arp, born on September 16, 1886, was a German-French painter, sculptor, poet and abstract artist, who founded the Dada movement in Zurich in 1916.

Timeline
Dada Movement
In 1916, Arp founded the Dada movement. It included the areas of visual arts, literature, theatre and graphic design. Dadaism went on to inspire later movements, like Avant-garde and Downtown music movements, and groups including Surrealism, Nouveau Realisme, Pop Art and Fluxus. By 1924, the movement was beginning to die out while Surrealism was becoming more prominent.
