Arizona joined the Pac-10 Conference in 1978. The Wildcats have played in 13 bowl games, but currently have the distinction of being the only Pac-10 school not to have represented the conference in the Rose Bowl. There have been several notable players produced by the school into the National Football League. These include Tedy Bruschi, Chuck Cecil, Jackie Wallace, Lance Briggs, Ricky Hunley, Glenn Parker, Dennis Northcutt and Chris McAlister.
