Guide Note

The American Idol March 12, 2008 episode revealed the American Idol Top 11 for season 7. The contestants competed the night before on the Beatles themed night. Some hits of the evening included David Archuleta's "We Can Work It Out" and Amanda Overmyer's rendition of "You Can't Do That".

During the March 12th show, Jim Carrey appeared in the audience dressed as the elephant Horton to promote the opening of the film Horton Hears a Who.

Katharine McPhee also performed George Harrison's classic song "Something" with singer David Foster.

The Top 11 were revealed and David Hernandez was the one contestant eliminated.

Back by popular demand. The contestants once again sang songs from the John Lennon-Paul McCartney songbook in the following week of the show.
