Guide Note: Alexandre Nardoni, along with his wife Anna Carolina Jatoba, has been arrested and accused of murdering his five-year-old daughter by throwing her out a sixth floor window.

The Crime

Alexandre Nardoni's daughter, Isabella de Oliveira Nardoni, was found injured on the grass below her father's sixth floor apartment on March 29, 2008. She died soon after she was found. Nardoni says that he left his daughter sleeping in her room while he went downstairs to help Jatoba with their other children, and when he came back she was gone. He alleged that an intruder entered the apartment and killed Isabella. Because of a large hole in the safety netting that hung over the window and blood found in her bedroom, police are certain that she was thrown with force and did not simply fall from the window. Subsequent examinations of her body indicate that she was strangled before she was thrown out the window. Neighbors also claimed they heard Isabella scream, "Stop, dad!"

The Motive?

Alexandre Nardoni had been having fights about child support with his ex-wife, who was Isabella's mother. According to Isabella's mother, he had threatened her and her daughter in the past. Fast Facts:
