In August of 2007, President George W. Bush expressed frustration over Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's failed efforts to reconcile conflicting interests among religious, ethnic, and political parties in Iraq. After a trip to the country in 2007, Senator Carl Levin said Iraq's Parliament should depose al-Maliki and the Prime Minister's cabinet.1
