Abdelbaset ali Mohmed al-Megrahi

Abdelbaset ali Mohmed al-Megrahi is the former Libyan intelligence officer who was convicted of 270 counts of murder, for his part in the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, on December 21, 1988.

Second Appeal

Megrahi was granted a second appeal on June 28, 2007, after the Commission uncovered evidence that showed a miscarriage of justice may have occurred. Four hearings were scheduled to take place between December, 2007, and June, 2008, before the actual appeal began.
