Aaron Cook is a right-handed pitcher for the Colorado Rockies. A native of Kentucky, Cook was originally selected by the Rockies in the 2nd round of the 1997 amateur draft. After five years in the Rockies farm system, Cook made his major league debut on August 10, 2002. Two years later, Cook discovered that he had a pulmonary embolism, which ended his season. After extensive surgery, Cook returned to pitch for the Rockies in 2005, winning the Tony Conigliaro Award on his way to a 7-2 record.

Strengths

Cook has a 95+ mph fastball, and throws an excellent sinker. He is tough, and pitches a lot of innings[1].

Weaknesses

Cook doesn't put hitters away when he gets ahead in the count. He is also not as effective against lefties as righties[2].
